Within the sprawling wilderness, there are no cities, no grand spires piercing the sky. Life in the Schwarzwald is fractured, scattered across hidden villages and remote temples that cling to survival like moss to stone. These outposts are as much a part of the forest as the trees themselves, weathered and ancient, their occupants hardened by the unrelenting struggle against the darkness that surrounds them.
The villagers speak in hushed tones of the forest’s dangers, of the wild creatures that roam with no conscience, no restraint. Yet some choose to remain, their lives shaped by the unforgiving environment. They hunt to live, their sustenance drawn from flesh, and sometimes, when desperation calls, even from souls.
