While faith brought structure to the chaos of the world, another force lurked in the shadows, whispering promises of power and despair. Known as The Tainted, this substance was unlike anything the world had ever seen. The vampires called it Snow, but it bore another name—Eclipse—among those who feared its seductive pull.
Snow began its existence as a tortured soul, harvested and trapped within fragile glass crystals by the Deathbringers. These spheres, shimmering and delicate, held the essence of darkness itself. The more twisted the soul within, the more brittle the crystal became, as if the weight of evil strained against its prison.
The true danger of snow lay in its transformation. When synthesized, the crystalline souls turned into a soft, blood-red powder—its texture like freshly fallen snow, but its touch cold and malevolent. The substance was water-soluble, dissolving with eerie ease into liquid.
